Ain upset shop issues foreign receipts

INDEPENDENT Consumer and Competition Commission (ICCC) chief executive officer Paulus Ain is disappointed over Asian shops (names withheld) in Lae issuing cash receipts printed in foreign language to customers upon paying goods at the counter.
“This is ridiculous,” Ain said.
“How can this thing happen?”
“How can a shop issue cash receipts printed in Asian language?
“That is ridiculous and the town authorities should step up on such issues.”
Similarly, on the issue of street vending, Ain said city authorities were responsible for enforcing laws on trading in public places.
However, he added that the city council was failing to perform its responsibilities and allowing illicit activities to flourish.
