NATIONAL airline Air Niugini has amended a number of its international flights following the extended maintenance on one of its Boeing 767 aircraft.
The airline said in a media statement last Friday that the amendments would take effect from tomorrow.
“Departure of PX 392 to Singapore on Tuesday (Dec 20, 2011) has been revised to leave Port Moresby at 5.15pm instead of 2.25pm, while PX 005 to Brisbane on Thursday will return to Port Moresby instead of staying overnight to operate the Friday morning Brisbane-Port Moresby service.
“A combined service will be operated on Friday from Brisbane to Port Moresby.
“Passengers from PX 006 in the morning will be combined with those from PX 004. This flight departs Brisbane at 11am,” the airline said.
It said PX 010 to Manila, the Philippines, on Friday would depart Port Moresby at 8.45pm instead of 5.15pm.
The return flight, PX 011 from Manila will arrive in Port Moresby at 08.15am on Saturday instead of 5am.
“PX 002 and PX 005 from Port Moresby-Brisbane and Port Moresby-Sydney on Saturday will be combined while PX 054 to Narita, Japan, also on Saturday, will depart at a new time of 3pm (instead of 2.20pm.”
Air Niugini said there would be an equipment change on PX 003/004 to and from Brisbane on Dec 25 and Dec 26.
“These flights will be operated by a Fokker 100 instead of a B767 aircraft.”
The airline said it expected all flights to be back to normal next Tuesday, “subject
to the completion of maintenance on the B767”.
Meanwhile, due to other prior commitments, an A310 aircraft operated by White Air will depart for Lisbon, Portugal, after operating the Port Moresby-Manila service.
