Air Niugini flights return to normal, says Foo

THE Air Niugini management says that its flights started returning to normal over the weekend following fresh dialogue with the National Pilots Union.
It stated the backlog of disrupted passengers was being cleared out of Port Moresby. These included its domestic outports.
Air Niugini chief executive officer Simon Foo said management and staff would continue to ensure that flights returned to schedule by early this week.
He said high on the list of priorities was to ensure that disrupted passengers were uplifted to their destinations at the earliest opportunity and that every attention has directed at providing services throughout its network.
“Providing air services to our passengers remains our priority and we are doing everything possible to recover from the disruptions over the last few days,” Foo said.
“Our passengers remain our number one priority.
“The management and staff are on hand to do everything possible to alleviate the inconvenience caused by the temporary setback to our services.”
He said the airline it would waive all penalty fees for the disrupted passengers.
“I would like to thank the staff who are working tirelessly to process and handle the various disrupted flights in the last few days including those pilots who have supported the airline’s mandate to provide air services to the travelling public,” Foo said.
