Air Niugini follows measures, stops inflight catering service

AIR Niugini says the airline has stopped its inflight catering services in line with other Covid-19 preventive measures.
“The inflight catering is complementary and the action to stop the service is all part of measures against the Covid-19,” the airline said in response to queries raised.
“Apart from not providing meals, we have also removed inflight magazines in seat pockets onboard all aircraft, providing masks to passengers during check-in and ensuring passengers sanitise their hands before boarding the aircraft.
“Passengers also go through temperature checks before checking in for flights.”
Since inflight catering is complementary, catering before Covid-19 situation was not often provided on short destination flights except for longer flights.
The airline also reminded travellers to provide valid identification for travel and to present a completed air passenger travel form (APTF) at the check-in.
Meanwhile, in a notice yesterday, the airline encouraged its customers and the public to pay attention to health tips to avoid the Covid-19.
This included washing hands regularly, not touching the face, coughing into elbows and maintaining a social distance of 1.5 metres.
