Air Niugini goes rural, trains agents

AIR Niugini has completed training for eight staff of rural sales agents who will be providing airline services.
The services include making reservations and selling tickets to people in rural communities.
The agents are businessmen and women in rural communities identified by the airline to act on its behalf.
The eight are from Bulolo in Morobe, Aitape in West Sepik, Bogia in Madang and Namatanai in New Ireland.
There are now 11 rural sales agents around the country.
The others are in Banz and Kudjip in Jiwaka, Kainantu in Eastern Highlands, Ialibu in Southern Highlands, Bialla in West New Britain, Maprik in East Sepik and Pomio in East New Britain. The training covered ticketing and reservation, online booking, customer service, cargo acceptance process and procedures and dangerous goods acceptance.
