Air Niugini leases Boeing 757
The National, Thursday 22nd March 2012
AIR Niugini has wet-leased a Boeing 757 aircraft effective yesterday until May 7 to cover scheduled services normally operated by the Boeing 767 aircraft.
As part of its routine maintenance programme, one Boeing 767 aircraft will go for checks this month and the second next month.
The wet leased Boeing 757 would cover flights to Brisbane, Sydney, Manila and Singapore except Tokyo, which will continue to be serviced by a Boeing 767.
In keeping with the airline’s commitment to maintain its high safety standards, Air Niugini management had ensured that scheduled maintenance checks do not inconvenience the travelling public, hence this wet lease arrangement.
All passenger information on flights that are to be operated by the Boeing 757 during the lease period have been updated in the system.
However, airline management encourages all passengers travelling during the period March 21 to May 7 on the specified sectors, to check and reconfirm their travel with their booking agents.
