Air Niugini subsidiary Air Niugini Cargo Ltd (ANCL) has appointed a global airline management company as its cargo sales agent in Australia.
That company is ACP Worldwide.
According to ANCL, the appointment will be effective from Sept 1.
ACP Worldwide will provide market expertise in promoting ANCL in all sales, marketing, reservations and customer service functions.
ANCL general manager Gus Kraus said the agreement had been in the making for several months.
“It’s a straight forward cargo agency appointment that paves the way for a more-concerted effort in developing PNG’s cargo business,” he said.
Kraus said the way forward for ANCL was to outsource this facet of the cargo business in major markets to experts in cargo.
“We are joining ACP’s portfolio of carriers with good network and global coverage,” he said.
“With ACP representation and the background expertise of professionals, it was an easy task to convince our cargo board chairman and team that the best and most-effective way forward was to identify the best fit partner and make the appointment
“We welcome this new initiative and trust that the new partnership will be mutually-rewarding.”
ACP Queensland sales manager Dave Harris said they were very excited to be representing ANCL and looked forward to maintaining the partnership now and into the future.
