Airline carrying the image of PNG

Letters

DOES an airline such as PNG Air carry a logo that might represent anything in whole or in part that may attribute to the identity of Papua New Guinea?
By all means yes.
With the exception of our national emblem (the Bird of Paradise), PNG Air’s intricate pattern of its logo on the tail’s end of its ATR72-600 and the DHC-8 Series 100 fleets are inarguably the most complete resemblance of the image of PNG.
The various designs have been merged by our PNG artist to collectively represent PNG as a whole.
Consequently, the creativity and the design itself has won its recognition as the world’s best aircraft design.
Most of our travelling citizens, airline staff and ordinary Papua New Guineans are yet to appreciate and recognise PNG Air as one of our national flag bearer.
Why?
There are two clear reasons I must provide to substantiate my claim.
First, the logo itself is the face of every society, tribe, culture, tradition and our skin colour.
In fact, it does carry a picture that speaks in volume about our country and the people.
We owe our sincere gratitude for buoying our true image.
Secondly, PNG Air is the second largest domestic airline in PNG and has the potential to expand its airline business abroad.
If it does, then this would enhance the world to recognise PNG in the most definable fashion.
By now we must appreciate our national airline which plays a significant role in showcasing our national image across the skies.
By all means she deserves to be named our national flag bearer as is our national leading airline – Air Niugini.
If you choose to mentally disregard the essence of this logo and its truth as revealed, you’ll one day yield to it if you are somewhere someplace out there in a foreign land facing this dark coloured bird touching down to take you home.
As of now you may have one choice, but let me briefly say that in the near future you might have an alternative.
In that case, you have a name to call out.
