AIR Niugini celebrated its 46th anniversary by hosting a family day through various fun activities on Saturday in Port Moresby.
The “PX family fun day” organising committee team leader Caroline Aribi said the day was organised for the staff and their family members, with various programmes for the young and adults.
Activities included sports, presentation of awards to staff who served the company for more than 25 years, meals, entertainment, and viewing of Boeing 767 which flew at 15,000 feet above the hosting venue at 3pm during its commercial flight from Brisbane.
“They were put into groups of red, yellow, green and blue and all families participated in the activities,” Abiri said.
She said it was the initiative of the staff to bring their families to celebrate together.
Abiri said Air Niugini management supported the initiative as it promoted unity and teamwork in the organisation.
Aribi further acknowledged St John Ambulance for being there.
St John Ambulance was there to standby in case of any emergency that may occur during the event.
