Airline notes spike in travellers over festive season

TERMINAL 4 at Port Moresby’s Jackson Airport is steadily getting busier this Christmas season, according to PNG Air.
The airline, in a statement, noted that its passengers were seeking value fares over the holidays.
“This is a very busy time for the airline, involving meticulous planning to ensure we can meet the peak demand,” chief operating officer Glenn Dunstan said.
“We are trialing a new queuing system at terminal 4, to streamline our check-in process and ensure we can get our customers through and boarding as efficiently as possible.
“Keeping children entertained at the airport can be a challenge at any time of year, but particularly at Christmas when the airport is at its busiest.
“However, Santa is also helping.”
The next few weeks will see PNG Air move thousands of families across PNG as they gather for the holidays.
“So far, this Christmas is shaping up to be one of our busiest ever,” chief commercial officer Michael Fry said.
“We are working to ensure customers have a great holiday experience and receive the best customer service.
“With large numbers of passengers travelling over the next fortnight, passengers should allow extra time coming to the airport and book early to avoid delays or disappointment.”

  • People should be moving in large numbers all throughout the year, to do that, lower the domestic fares and the demand maintains.
