AIRLINES PNG has expanded its services to meet increasing demand.
“As part of our network strategy, one of Airlines PNG’s main objectives is to provide services which satisfy customers’ travel needs and provide the short travel time between regional cities,” chief executive Muralee Siva said.
“This expansion improves many of our routes and sees the introduction of new ones and increased frequency on several key routes,” he said.
The changes include daily flights between Buka, Kokopo and Kavieng and Lae and Goroka.
The new services include flights between Goroka and Madang and back to Goroka; Mt Hagen and Madang; Alotau and Popondetta; Lae and Alotau and Lae and Daru.
Three flights a week would include Lae and Manus and Lae and Kavieng.
The flight five times a week are between Port Moresby, Daru and Kiunga.
Four flights a week will be between Port Moresby and Kimbe; Lae and Popondetta and Lae and Buka.
Lae to Kimbe will have flights eight times a week, while service between Lae and Kokopo would see 14 flights a week.
Flights between Port Moresby and Alotau will now be nine times a week.
The airline also increased Port Moresby and Goroka flights to eight times a week.
In addition, the airline’s schedule on key city pairs such as Port Moresby/Lae and Port Moresby/Mt Hagen remains unchanged, with convenient departure timing, increased frequency and easy connections to other destinations.
Over the past four years, Airlines PNG had added new services linking key regional ports such as Mt Hagen, Lae and Kokopo to other centres.
Siva said: “Over this period we have seen doubling of new routes operating between provincial centres increasing the ability of Papua New Guineans to conduct business, maintain family connections and access key social services such as education and health care.”
He said their objective was to simplify travel, complemented by its company wide focus on on time performance resulting in a better travel experience for customers.
