Airport theft charge

 A FEMALE employee of Air Niugini at the Nadzab Airport has been charged with stealing K260,000 while employed as a cashier.

She was in charge of collecting and receipting cash for excess baggage, manual and e-ticketing sales, summarising balance sheets and preparing various payment forms for banking and doing banking runs.

According to the Lae police fraud squad, a total of K260,248.62 was not banked although receipted.

She was suspected of converting K152,874.22 from cargo sales and K107,374.40 from passenger and baggage excess payments for her personal use.
