Aitape horrors

West Sepik’s Aitape town is reeling from the death of a young man who was wounded in a fight involving mostly youths who had been drinking homebrew on Friday, April 12, next to Robert Parer Oval.
The cause of death has not yet been confirmed but witnesses said offensive weapons were used in the fight.
At least two others are battling to survive after suffering serious injuries.
The local community leaders have met members of the district authorities to address the matter.
Law and order in this once peaceful town is next to non-existent at the moment as brutal killings and assaults keep happening with frightening ease.
