CARITAS Technical Secondary, an all-girls school in Port Moresby, celebrated its technical day yesterday.
Parents, relatives and friends packed the school hall to witness skills showcased by the students.
Headgirl Michelle Bart, 18, said such a day was good for the students to put into practice what was taught in the classroom.
“It is an open-house day where the students perform on stage what they learn in their technical courses, we have an office and administration, ICT, cooking, sewing and other competitions that are going on,” she said. “The girls just go and perform on stage, showing their skills that they have acquired during this term.”
Bart encouraged the girls to keep pursuing to be the best in their education.
Yesterday was the 24th year of technical day. The theme of the event was: “Empowering Women to Transform Lives”.
