Allocate more funds to PNG Defence Force

Letters

I APPEAL to the Government to consider allocating more funds to the Papua New Guinea Defence Force (PNGDF) long range reconnaissance unit (LRRU) and other sections of the force.
I suggest that a school of excellence in research and development be established immediately and consider utilising proven green technology and smart technology applicable to long distance reconnaissance and infiltration of enemy lines.
It is time Papua New Guinea considers having our own modern satellites dedicated for telecommunications and surveillance internally and for the security of our borders.
We need to consider electric hybrid aircraft and drones to assist our LRRU and PNGDF.
We need to consider the use of non-conventional strike missiles that includes magnetic launch pads for landing, air and sea elements that fires virtually any metal missiles that can travel much faster than conventional fire power and in speeds close the speed of sound.
I appeal to the Government to consider an upgrade of the PNGDF personnel’s salaries, remuneration, housing and working conditions.
I would like to thank LRRU and to the commander of PNG Defence Force in its change of baret.
Congratulations and well done.
