Allow girls in rural areas to prosper

Letters

IT is very sad that our daughters have to endure the challenge of walking long distances while on their menstrual cycles.
Rural children, particularly the girls, were affected.
I am worried that most children in rural areas have not benefitted from the e-learning facilities provided during the Covid-19 lockdown as they do not have access to electronic gadgets.
Some progressive steps were taken by governments to improve the education of girls child but we’re still yet to ensure that more girls reach higher levels of education.
It’s a disgrace that there are still instances where girls are not prioritised by their families in terms of attaining education.
It is very sad that girls have to endure these challenges.
There is no proper support for them during their menstrual cycles.
