POLICE officer Snr Const Gini Sakoro had a pleasant surprise on Wednesday when he became the fifth lucky winner of Digicel’s Super 8 competition.

Originally from Central, Sakoro lives in Alotau, Milne Bay, and has been in the police force for 20 twenty years.

His wife, Crystable is a nurse at the Alotau General Hospital and they have two children.

“I know how to drive and I don’t own a car. Digicel has been of great help to the people of PNG. I think it is doing a great job in the country,” he said.

Less than an hour after he was told of his win, he said he was still trying to absorb that news.

“I’m really excited but I don’t have any plans for the vehicle right now.”

Sakoro said he could not remember the number of times he topped up his phone but he had aimed to score the Landcruiser.

“We are very pleased to see another happy customer. And it’s good to know that this particular vehicle will be used by two public servants who have been serving the community of Alotau,” Digicel CEO John Mangos said.

The Digicel Super 8 competition draw happens every Wednesday. There are three more Landcruisers to be won. The promotion ends July 10.
