LITTLE-known Alukuni and Keapara kicked off day one of the Hekari Central Cup soccer tournament with big wins over their opponents  at the Bisini Sports Precinct soccer ground yesterday.
It was a fun-filled day of football as soccer teams from the Hood Lagoon area of the Rigo coast, Central, came to display their talents with good support from Hekari United.
Alukuni striker Karo Ila had a field day scoring a hat-trick to help his team thrash Papaka Two 7-0 while Keapara sounded an early warning with another classy show to hammer Hula 6-0.
Using his NSL experience, Ila outran his opponents with ease to score three goals and then set two others for his team-mates to bring the tally to seven in total.
The opening match saw Papaka 1 and Kalo in the replay of the Rigo Coast LLG soccer finals, with Papaka edging out Kalo 3-2 in the last minute to win.
The Hekari Central Cup tournament directors Paul Isorua and Gure Gabina were pleased with the outcome of first day.
Day one results: Papaka (1) 3 Kalo 2, Keapara 6 Hula 0, Karawa 4 Gemo 4, Alukuni 7 Papaka (2) 0, Alewai 3 Makerupa 3, Kamali 4 Kaparoko 1, Kalo 4 Gemo 1, Papaka 2 2 Hula 0.
