AN American missionary and his wife who commissioned a new church building in Port Moresby last week met some of their students who graduated from a Bible college in the United States.
Pastor Robert Cosgray and his wife Mardene, from Marietta Bible College in Ohio, commissioned the Waterlife Baptist church which was recently built at the Wildlife area in Port Moresby North East.
Cosgray said he was pleased to have seen and witnessed the fruits of one of his missionary graduates from Marietta Bible College in building a church in Port Moresby.
He said the college does not only train missionaries to preach the Word of God, but also provide other business, technical and life skills training.
“I hope to see more young people in Papua New Guinea be able to study in the US and we are happy and ready to support and facilitate,” Cosgray said.
There were about 13 students from PNG that included seven women and six men graduated from the college.
One of the graduates, who established the Waterlife Baptist Church, Missionary Sylvanus Mul from Southern Highlands said their mission was reaching the unreached.
“We are a rich and Christian country as we always say to ourselves.
“However, there are some people who are yet to really feel the presence and touch of God in their lives and enjoy the many blessings,” Mul said. “We still have violence and law and order issues existing in our communities and that shows the need to reach out more to the communities.”
He said they have a big vision to help people not only spiritually, but in their physical lives through providing pathways for business, technical and life skills training in the US as well as establishing a Bible college in PNG in the long-term.
Ps Cosgray and wife Mardene left over the weekend for US.
