Amoa sides in training for selection trials

THE national volleyball teams started training last week with various testing and screening conducted at the High Performance Centre with PNG Volleyball Federation president Kila Dick, pictured, saying it was important for the players to start preparing for the Pacific Games in July.
“I believe this training is really important for the athletes to put them on the right footing in readiness for the intensive training they will undergo before the selection trials that will be at the end of this month,” Dick said.
The trials on the weekend where the final 20 players for the men’s and women’s sides will be picked.
Training has started with the teams doing a high performance programme at the Taurama Aquatic Centre on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays for skills drills team work and endurance training.
