WINGER Kafare Amos won back-to-back Digicel Cup titles with different clubs after putting in a man-of-the-match performance to help the Lae Snax Tigers beat the Hela Wigmen 15-4 in the grand final in Port Moresby yesterday.
The 2018 Goroka Lahanis premiership winner scored a double and made number of strong carries and tackle breaks at the National Football Stadium as he won consecutive titles.
The Goroka man credited his side’s preparations which he believed had set the win for them.
“Our preparations over the last two weeks have been great,” Amos said.
“Coming into this game, I had no high hopes of winning an individual award. I just went out there and gave everything I had.
“Scoring a double was great, I scored a lot of tries this season.
“But I had a bit of a drought in the last month so to score a double in a big game is just awesome.”
Amos also had some family members who came from Goroka to watch him play. He received a K1,000 cheque for his man-of-the-match award, thanks to Digicel.
