Port Moresby Anglican diocese Bishop Denny Guka and a team will walk the Kokoda Track next month to raise money for the PNG Council of Churches (PNGCC).
Speaking during the official launching in Port Moresby last week, Guka said they aimed to raise over K15,000
Guka is also the council of churches chairman. He said the money would be used for projects in the city. He said the fundraising drive was being done in partnership with churches’ council and Anglicare Foundation.
He added that the council also planned to build a National Ecumenical Centre in Port Moresby to host church events such as the National Remembrance Day celebrations and other conferences.
Guka will be accompanied by a team of soldiers and selected members of the Anglican Church.
