Anglicare gives seed capital to six people

Anglicare PNG has supported six people with K3400 seed capital each to set up a small business, says corporate manager Collin Andamale.
Andamale said its Kisim Na Givim programme funded two people in chicken poultry projects, one screen-printing, one sewing and two in street vending.
The six were registered cooperatives, Andamale said during a ceremony in Port Moresby recently.
He said the programme was trailed out only in Port Moresby starting early this year.
“We have given seed capital (to the six people) with a time frame to use, make themselves a good profit and support their living,” Andamale said.
“After the given timeframe, they transfer the capital back to Anglicare.
“Anglicare, through its Kisim na Givim programme, continues to support other applicants.”
Andamale said there were 1400 applicants who wanted to use the seed capital in different businesses.
“Two cooperatives have transferred the seed back to the Anglicare and four of them will transfer when their period of time is over,” he said.
