Anglimp district

Letters

FOR the information of other fellow Jiwakans, Anglimp district is now part of Jiwaka, which was separated from Western Highlands seven years ago.
The planners at Kumul headquarters are duty-bound as expected to ensure that such misconceptions are discouraged at all costs.
As Anglimp is located closer to Kagamuga International Airport, most of the people speak the Melpa language and embrace the cultures of the Mt Hagen people.
They have kids going to urban schools, run successful businesses there and had everything going their way, only to be disturbed by the agenda of a new province that is irrelevant to their normal daily lives.
Getting trapped in such a situation has never been easy as can be imagined, but the ultimate decision to surrender everything for the sake of Jiwaka was an honourable move. As a return favour, the Anglimp people are eager to know if their district has ever been captured into the provincial administrative structure of Jiwaka.
Furthermore, the provincial authorities need to clarify the air on the status of Anglimp – whether it is functioning as a district or a sub-district.
If it is operating as a sub-district, then when can it be recognised as a district?
If it is already a district, then is it accorded the same level of attention as other districts of the province?
Officers of Anglimp station need a reliable motor vehicle on fulltime basis to help them carry out their duties efficiently and effectively.
Jiwaka came off the ground with the support of Anglimp people, so together we will continue to move it forward into the future.
