Luke Gawi, a candidate in the Angoram open by-election, has cried foul over the conduct of some electoral officials in the district.

Gawi speaking yesterday in Angoram, East Sepik, claimed he had witnessed corrupt practices by candidates and officials and called for an end to these practices as they go into polling this week.

“Polling and counting officials in the Angoram open seat by-election and LLG election must conduct themselves impartially without fear or favour as in past elections where bribery was rife,” he said.

He claimed some candidates have a list of polling officials and are bribing certain officials.

“I know who those candidates are and am appealing to them to stop immediately because if they don’t God will still expose their evil deed,” the independent candidate said.
