Any updates from tax review committee?

I WROTE in  many  times to bring attention to the government to reduce personal income tax on employees working in the oil and gas, as well as mining industries.

I was pleased to read in the dailies last year that a tax review committee was set up to look into the issue.

Now that it is 2014, I am sure the committee must have made some progress.

But if the committee has ceased to continue its reviews, I  am  afraid we, the employees of these two industries, are still going to have  to  deal with the excessive personal income tax imposed on us.

If the committee has made progress, I would like to know when we will see the fruition of its reviews.

Please be informed that my salary is still being heftily deducted and the percentage  of  tax  I  am paying  is still  an  alarming 35%  of my gross salary.

I hate to hear of corrupt deals involving public monies that comes from my tax.

Can  this  stop  and can my tax be wisely spent on services that I can truly appreciate instead of just a few people benefitting from my sweat?
