THE ANZ top town branch in Lae, Morobe, will get a makeover when Kina Bank moves in with its new contemporary branding at the end of next month.
This was announced by Kina Bank chief executive officer Greg Pawson on Tuesday.
“I think our Lae customers will be delighted with the transformation,” Pawson said.
“New signage above the main entrance will be reconstructed to give a modern and contemporary look with cooler Kina Bank branding displayed on the exterior of the building.”
Pawson said the two banks had agreed to exchange branches to prepare for the completion of the Kina Bank’s acquisition of ANZ PNG’s retail, commercial and small and medium enterprises business.
“Kina Bank announced its acquisition of ANZ Papua New Guinea’s retail, commercial and SME business last June and the project was on track for completion in September when more than 300 staff and 12,000 customers would move across to Kina Bank,” he said.
“On top of this, we have put in a substantial amount of work to implement a brand new switching capability.
“This will allow us to introduce tap and go credit cards, provides EFTPOS services and manage an expanded ATM fleet.”
The bank also announced it was the first company in country to connect to the Bank of PNG’s central switch – a digital software solution that allows all of the banks in PNG to connect to one another through the central bank.
“This development forms the foundation on which we are building a better bank for the future. It’s why we were voted the most innovative business in 2018,” Pawson said.
