Apec authority to cease after final report

THE Apec Authority will cease operation once the final report is submitted to Minister Justin Tkatchenko and tabled in Parliament
Tkatchenko told The National that he was awaiting the final report.
“As soon as the final report is submitted to me, the Apec Authority would have been closed down,” Tkatchenko said.
Apec authority chief executive Chris Hawkins said the Apec Authority was winding up with remaining matters which include final payments.
“Once that’s completed we will submit our report to Apec Minister Tkatchenko who will present it to National Executive Council.
“The report would then be presented to Parliament next month for the repealing of the Apec Act,” Hawkins said.
Apec Authority was established by an Act of Parliament and it will cease through the repealing of the Act.
Hawkins said there was the process on the closing down of Apec assets and disposal process with which the Authority must see through.
However, he said there were delays in finalising the payments of services, disposal of Apec assets and the audit report is expected to be completed soon.
