Apec report awaiting verification, to be tabled in Parliament in April: PM

THE 2018 Apec Report will be tabled in Parliament when it sits in April, Prime Minister James Marape says.
Marape said the report was now before PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) for checks and verification.
“Once that is done we will table it in April and Parliament can be privy to the report,” he said.
Minister for Finance and Rural Development Rainbo Paita told The National that the report was being finalised.
He said all Apec vehicles would tendered from next week by the National Procurement Commission.
“I can’t really say how many cars will be put on tender, but the cars will be tendered next week.
“For the task force team recovering Apec vehicles, the police have been really good and working with us in ensuring that all Apec Cars are being recovered.”

  • Is this the second or third time they were ‘..going to be tendered?
Thought this is The Final Report; 16 months after APEC 2018 ended with rioting government workers. Yet the report says. ‘Can’t really say how many cars will be put on tender but then goes on to say ‘All APEC cars are being recovered…!’
Does that mean that some have not been recovered? If so why wait so long to tender what vehicles were in government hands rather than allowing the vehicles to rust and deteriorate in the humid salty wharf area storage waiting for some to never be returned?
Why was APEC Minister Justin Tkatchenko not allowed to complete his important role as Minister for APEC?
