Apec vehicles donation ongoing

THE Government will continue to dispose all Apec assets including vehicles, Finance Minister Charles Abel says.
He told The National that Cabinet wanted every province and district to get one bus or a vehicle.
“We are trying to meet that direction so some MPs have already picked up their vehicles,” Abel said.
“It’s ongoing.
“There is another 350 vehicles being auctioned or distributed.
“We need to do that and get the others that need to be either allocated or auctioned, including the Maserati vehicles.”
He has asked finance secretary Dr Ken Ngangan to provide an update on the asset disposal exercise.
Abel said Cabinet had decided on how many vehicles to be donated.
“We gave some vehicles to schools, hospitals and government departments.
“There were thousands of requests.
“So in order to satisfy everybody and be fair, we just give one to each district and province and the main hospital and schools.”
