AIRLINES PNG recently handled the world’s largest cargo aircraft, the Antonov 124, at Jacksons Airport in Port Moresby for Toll Group, the Asia Pacific region’s leading provider of logistics.
APNG’s chief executive officer Muralee Siva, said: “Airlines PNG’s ability to react quickly and efficiently to customers’ requirements meant that when Toll’s specialist remote logistics business, Toll Remote Logistics, needed ground handling on very short notice for its Antonov 124 flights to Port Moresby for the Australian and Papua New Guinean governments, Airlines PNG was able to provide the solution they needed.”
“I’m delighted that Airlines PNG was selected to handle this aircraft and that we were able to put in place a seamless service for our client.”
“Handling an aircraft like the Antonov 124 and the volume of cargo it can carry is a challenging task and it is very pleasing that our people, training and processes were up to that challenge of delivering outstanding customer service no matter how small or large the job”.
The Antonov 124 has the capacity to transport 150,000kg of cargo or 10 20-foot containers.
The operation was carried out over five consecutive nights.
APNG has 23 aircraft, serving 29 ports with 530 flights per week and carry 300,000 passengers a year.
