I CALL on Prime Minister Peter O’Neill and his partners to consider Yangoru-Saussia MP Richard Maru for the position of deputy prime minister.
Although Maru is an independent MP and is not affiliated to any party, appointing him to either a senior ministry or deputy prime minister’s post will add colour and flavour to the cabinet make-up of the new government.
Not only is Maru a no-nonsense Papua New Guinean, he is well educated, qualified corporate leader and a prudent manager.
He brings with him a wealth of experience from the private sector as the managing director of the National Development Bank.
It is not a secret that he is a very capable man. PNG needs leaders like him.
