WHILE it is National Executive Council’s decision to appoint acting managing directors and chief executive officers to their substantive positions, a number of those in acting positions have been overlooked for far too long.
It is really unfair to overlook persons who have been in acting position for more than a year and then you have the Government bringing a different person and appoint him/her in an acting position and for less than three months, the person is appointed to his substantive position get gazette by the governor-general for a five-year contract.
This is unfair to those who have contributed meaningfully to the development of this country but are still in acting positions.
