EIGHT apprentices graduated after four years of training with Fletcher Morobe constructions company in Port Moresby last Friday.

They were: Avosa Siviri, John Fred, Ivan Gesoi, and Olomon Pupuna (plumbing/drainage); Roy Munulai and Brian Bon (carpentry); Michael Obuyanto (heavy fitter); and Billy Andrew (joiner/cabinet maker).

“We are proud to provide the best workforce skills training to help young people who will contribute effectively in terms of development in PNG,” Fletcher Morobe general manager Keith Fletcher said.

He said with the increase in infrastructural development taking place, the company aimed to produce more tradesmen who would specialise in building construction work.

Last year, the company trained 13 apprentices who received their certificates in various trades.

Fletcher said the company would support the eight trainees for further skills training in Madang, Mt Hagen and technical colleges in the country.
