A MAN from Morobe province has appeared before the Waigani Committal Court charged with two counts of armed robbery.
Lero Sirro appeared yesterday before magistrate Fred Tomo, charged with robbing secondhand vehicle dealer Auto Zeal International Limited at the Gordon commercial area on Nov 16.
The court was told that Sirro and three other men had stolen more than K15,000 in two planned armed robberies.
In the first, they held up a business house at Konedobu and then proceeded to rob Auto Zeal at Gordon.
The court heard that items robbed at both locations included laptops, digital cameras, mobile phones and cash in Australian dollars.
It heard that Sirro and his gang were armed with two pistols and a pump action gun and had acted violently during the two robberies during which staff were held up.
Magistrate Tomo ordered that Sirro be remanded in custody until the next hearing on Jan 20.
