Youth & Careers

The PNG Defence Force is taking part in school careers expos to promote the military as a career and find people who can turn out to be soldiers of the future.
Director for training and education Lt Col Paul Ageva said the Defence Force needed soldiers who could think and act smart.
“The standard of ships and planes will be changing,” he said.
“We need people who are very good in mathematics and English.”
Lt Col Ageva was speaking during the school careers expo in Port Moresby. “We are looking at this expo to market ourselves and try to get best and quality candidates as much as possible to come into the force,” Ageva said.
He said good candidates would help the Defence Force reach the next level.
Ageva said the Defence Force was working with Education Department on this project.
