 SPORT fanatics in Aroma Coast, Central , will enjoy a feast of sporting activities leading up to New Year this weekend courtesy of Keleone/Aroma Development Group in Port Moresby.

Spokesman for KADG Jack Kedea said people living in Port Moresby and in Central would flock into the village to take part in the sporting activities.

He said there are three major activities would take place include : canoe racing, fishing and banana exhibition.

Kedea said the weekend sporting celebration starts today with Aroma Cup – B grade racing sponsored by National Gaming Control Board.

All three major events would start tomorrow and into the new year.

He said the tournament has attracted 15 villages starting from Paramana to Vuru.

Kedea said KADG has offered K1,000 and the cup to the winner of the canoe race (A grade only) while there are 20 consolation prizes for other participants.

He said fishing has been grouped into three categories; net casting, fishing line and spear diving, with winners of all categories walking away with K500.

As Central is renowned for its bananas, KADG will hold a banana exhibition. 

There are prizes to be won on this major village activity for best banana on display. 

Kedea said from the Aroma rugby league grand final, they would select a team to travel to New Zealand to play a district team which will be put together by Ripa Kalamo of PNGRFL office – Southern region.

KADG will also select a side  to participate at the  PNG Games in East New Britain plus a Central squad to play in the Southern Zone championships in Port Moresby.
