 GLOBAL Construction Aroma Coast stunned Veupunama 44-40 in the final round of the Port Moresby Netball competition on Saturday.

The rivals battled it out before Aroma Coast eventually edging Veupunama.

Veupunama, comprised of favour­ites Villie Nopiri, Barabara Arivusu and national Under-21 national representative Paruru Vaieke led their girls against Aroma Coast.

Aroma Coast shooters Jennifer Rigolo and Aiva Peter made sure every shot counted.

Vaieke was up against classy Aroma Coast defender Cathy Herea.

In other matches, Esco Telstars defeated Digicel Sparrows 41-33, while Snax Mermaids beat the City Pharmacy Rebels 53-50.

This Saturday in the POMNA semi-finals, third placed Telstars will take on fourth Rebels in a do-or-die match, while second place Sparrows meet premier leaders Mermaids for a spot in the final.
