POLICE have arrested a 27-year-old man after he allegedly slashed a 28-year-old man in Port Moresby’s ATS settlement last Friday.
The suspect, who led allegedly his relatives to attack a family in the settlement, was denied police bail and was remanded at the Boroko Police Station.
Maggie Jessie, sister of the victim said she and her family were now living in fear after the attack by a man, who was believed to be drunk, and his mob.
Jessie said the drunkard had tried to pull her sister into a car at 6.45pm but her younger brother (Simon Yakai, 28) foiled the attempted kidnap.
“My brother told him not to do that as we are all living in the same settlement but the guy punched and broke his jaw,” she said.
