Arrests mar weekend

FOUR arrests have been made while two suspects remain at large after offences committed over the weekend in West New Britain, provincial police commander inspector John Midi says.
Midi said four arrests highlighted an otherwise quiet weekend with the province normally seeing seven to 10 arrests.
Midi said suspects were arrested for attempted murder, armed robbery, breaking and entering, and causing grievous bodily harm.
“Police operations on the ground made the arrests possible when we received the reports,” Midi said.
He said two suspects escaped from the scene of a fight. The suspects wounded a man, however, Midi said the cause of the fight was being investigated.
