TINY share market listed Savoy Equities is forging ahead with plans to commercialise a natural health remedy for arthritis sufferers following
promising results in a company-sponsored preliminary trial of 100 Kiwi patients.
The Wellington-based oils and resins extraction business announced half of the people trialling the bioceutical since February had reported significant benefits, while a further 18% had some benefit, and the rest
had no change.
No side effects were reported.
The trial did not involve doctors or any formal medical checking, as would be required if the product was to be sold as a medicine.
The treatment uses the same active ingredient artemisinin from the
herb artemisia annua as a malaria treatment the company has been trialling for some time in
Papua New Guinea. – BusinessDay.co.nz
