Ase: It’s business as usual

THE Morobe provincial administration and public servants in the districts and local level governments are continuing work as usual, Huon district administrator Tony Ase said.
Ase spoke out in response to media reports that the bureaucracy was winding down because of the on-going tussle over the administrator’s post.
Morobe administrator Kemasang Tomala returned from annual leave two weeks ago to find that the provincial government was pushing for his suspension and wanted deputy provincial administrator-district services Patillas Gamato to act in the position.
Ase, who was elevated to Gamato’s position as deputy administrator while Gamato acted in the top job, said the report of the bureaucracy coming to a halt was not true.
“The officers are still at work and it indicates that there is no confusion,” he said.
Ase said he had advised public servants that politics be left to the politicians while the delivery of public service to the people must continue.
