SHANE Ninai’s story (The National, April 12) is good for young Papua New Guineans to aspire to be successful in life if one pursues his or her dreams.

We need support from our own people as well to realise our potential to develop as entrepreneurs who will in turn employ and benefit other Papua New Guineans.

Congratulations to the young man for his vision to do something that is likely to benefit a lot people if the venture is successful in the future.

On the local business front, certain downside of trying to start up a business kills our people’s interests at times, one of which is the high interest rates and hidden extra costs charged by banks and finance companies.

These are really discouraging for small time entrepreneurs and beginners who struggle to start up and run businesses.

After all, any business that runs successfully regardless of how big or small it may be will always provide employment for our people.

Therefore, any male, female or group that show interest in starting up a business or income generating venture must be encouraged and supported by everyone, including those in authority to help our people become successful.
