Assist schools in rural areas

Letters

I THANK the Government for its contributions of 62 per cent to the total national education board maximum school fee costs.
However, it will be still a burden for the schools that are in remote and isolated parts of Papua New Guinea.
The board of management of these schools will face difficulties in moving school materials. As a parent and a school board member, I have experienced this for almost 34 years.
We have been transporting materials from 1986 to last year from Oro Bay via Popondetta through dinghies to Embessa.
We walk for two days to the school, which is in Musa Valley.
The Government should look into this issue.
It should assist schools by transporting materials to those disadvantaged schools by air.
