Assist stranded citizens

Letters

GOVERNMENT authorities are faced with the challenge of devising appropriate quarantine protocols for the entry of stranded Papua New Guineans after the lockdown period.
Any new imported Covid-19 cases from these citizens would be a real threat if there are no isolation facilities in country to keep them for 14 days.
We cannot rely on clearances given abroad.
China already went through a second wave of Covid-19 infection from returning residents.
The Government through the Covid-19 rescue package may make provisions to assist genuine stranded citizens who were denied entry during the lockdown period.
Credit US$1,000 (about K3,231.02) as a one off support rescue package to them.
