A MAN charged with attempted murder has been committed to stand trial at the National Court.

Jack Raima 31, from the Kumdi village, Mul Baiyer in Western Highlands had been charged with unlawfully wounding ElliceKundi, 33, from Pehembe village in Ialibu, Southern Highlands.

Waigani committal court Magistrate Cosmos Bidar said the  court acted as a screening process that considered the sufficiency of the evidence so the matter could be trialled.

Bidar said there was enough evidence before the court and that Raima was committed to stand trial at the National Court.

Raima will appear on July 21.

The situation occurred when Raima had an argument with Kundi over business arrangement.

The two were in a relationship when the alleged offence happened on Sept 18 last year at 8-Mile in Port Moresby.

Kundi had converted rooms in the property for rent purposes, which resulted in an argument over the distribution of money taken as rental fees.

Raima claimed that the property was his because Kundi had become his wife.

However, Kundi resented that, saying she still owned the property and she was able to decide on her own.

Raima resorted to violence, allegedly harming Kundi that led to her being hospitalised for a month.
