Attention drawn to Mendi Muruks

Letters

I WISH to draw attention to the Mendi Muruks team and our past four years of dismal performance, failures and inconsistencies in terms of both the management and the players.
The performance of any team on the field is only as good as the team management.
The selection of players should come from properly sanctioned competitions and not based on favouritism and affiliations.
The dismal performance of the Mendi Muruks since 2013 is an indication of the failure of the management team.
Despite the management having been in place for five years, it looks like we are still trying to reinvent the wheel, and we therefore are not seeing any visible progress in terms of performance.
We don’t need frequent player changes; we need to groom the players.
We don’t need to change the management and coaches annually; we need consistency.
I hope the current executives of Mendi Muruks digest the above views going forward to rebuild the Mendi Muruks brand.
The Mendi Muruks are more than a team.
They are the pride of the province.

Micheal Wepi
Former Mendi Muruks team manager (2005 – 2012)
