Audit funds

Letters

THE Government’s annual budget allocation of K1million under the district services improvement programme (DSIP) funds allocation is marked to promote micro small and medium enterprise (MSMEs).
But the majority of the people have not benefited from these funds.
Proper audits and investigations should be conducted into all DSIP allocations to districts and names of all recipients be published publicly as proof.
Many Papua New Guineans are still illiterate and don’t know how to apply for government assistance through their respective districts because MPs and the district administrators fail to inform them about these available funding.
Once our respective MPs begin to use their DSIP allocations rightly and start to help our people grow MSMEs, we will create employment and see huge rise in collections taxes through GST and promote business activities in PNG.
The national, provincial and district government budgets should target infrastructure development such as roads and bridges, wharfs and jetties, rural airstrips, promote agriculture and fisheries activities and promoting and encouraging SMEs in the ward levels.
This is an indirect way to take back PNG and putting more money into the pockets of our people.
