Augwi sworn-in

BRIG-Gen Francis Augwi was sworn-in as the new commander of the PNG Defence Force yesterday.
The PNGDF welcomed its new commander in a small but formal ceremony at the Murray Barrack’s conference room.
Brig-Gen Augwi was commissioned before being sworn-in by Deputy Chief Justice Gibbs Salika.
Defence secretary Fred Punangi was the only member of the immediate past Defence Council present for the occasion.
Defence Minister Bob Dadae and outgoing commander Cmdr Peter Ilau were not present.
