Aussie returns with gifts for school

Education

Eleven laptops and learning materials have been donated to Kuta Primary School in Mt Hagen, Western Highlands, by Lite Haus Foundation of Australia.
Founder Jack Growden presented 11 laptops to the school on Friday.
Growden, a student of James Cook University in Townsville, Australia, and 19 other students were sent to Mt Kuta in 2016 to do research as part of their studies. Growden returned to Mt Kuta last year to give back to the community.
Kopi tribe councillor Peter Raim thanked Growden for the support through the foundation.
He said it was a pleasure to see him coming back to give something to a place where he had spent some time.
School board chairman and Pinambi tribe councillor John Kawa said the gift would improve computer literacy at the school.
Head teacher Kennedy Appa said these laptops would be put to good use to improve the learning capacity of the students in the school.
